Simply dial *479# to get the Airtel free data of 1GB for 1 month. This is referred to as Airtel RechargePlus, you would simply recharge your SIM and dial *479#, which will unlock the 250MB every week and 1GB a month.
The data bundle cannot actually be checked, it seems to work on the background however.
